Making the Intercultural Journey

How the Local Church Can Help Heal Cultural Divides

In our increasingly polarized culture, the church should play a crucial role in reconciliation.

God desires that we build bridges and heal divisions. Jesus facilitated reconciliation by very consciously crossing cultural boundaries. He touched lepers, called  humble fishermen, a Zealot and a hated tax collector to be disciples, and built bridges with Jews, Gentiles and Samaritans alike. But sadly churches today are overwhelmingly mono-cultural, reflecting not God’s call for diversity, but our culture’s temptation towards tribalism.

Your Journey From Monocultural To Intercultural

Grow Spiritually

As your church becomes more intercultural, you will experience more of God’s grace and transformation in your own life and in the life of your church.

Witness Faithfully

One of our greatest forms of witness is the quality of our love for one another, especially for those who are different from us.

10 Questions for Monocultural Churches

Who Want To Become Intercultural

Before you buy the book, you may have some questions about the journey ahead of you.

Rick Snyder has gathered ten poignant and thought-provoking questions for monocultural churches to consider as they begin their journey of becoming intercultural.

  • What will this cost?
  • How do we assess our readiness for change?
  • How do we overcome language barriers?
  • What does success look like?
  • … and 6 more, none of which have easy answers!

It takes courage to face questions like these, but without an honest look at these dynamics, your church is more likely to stumble through the process.
